Top Reasons to Support UofL Brown Cancer Center

We have the ability to cure cancer worldwide and do it right here in Louisville, Ky. But, we can’t do it without your help. Together, we can save lives.

In 2020, we had more than 1,000 donors accept this challenge and join in the fight against cancer.

You can become part of this group helping provide resources to patients in need today and fund programs that discover tomorrow's cures. Your support provides hope, empowers research, and lightens the load of our patients and caregivers so we can all fight for a day without cancer.

2020 Donor List

Brown Cancer Center

Kentucky is at ground zero with the highest death rates of cancer in the country. UofL Brown Cancer Center was founded so that the people wouldn’t have to travel to get treatment  but instead would have access to the most sophisticated cancer care in the world.

1

Clinical Trials

We offer groundbreaking clinical trials and approaches that hospitals around the world wait years to learn about. With top academic researchers and oncologists, we are at the forefront of innovation, testing new drugs that activate the immune system. These breakthrough immunotherapies are designed to be less toxic and save more lives.

2

Microscope

We have proven that we can fight cancer and win. Through clinical research done right here at UofL Health – Brown Cancer Center, we have reduced the three-year melanoma death rate from 95 percent to only 20 percent. This means more people, young and old, can be with their family, pursue their careers and enjoy their lives.

3

Doctor

With your support, we will make more breakthroughs, reduce the deaths caused by all cancers, and make it a disease of the past.

4

Lab work

We’re at the forefront of developing and treating immunotherapies which have the ability to eradicate cancer completely from a patient’s body. You can help fund this research.

5

Doctor

We were among the first to test immunotherapy with melanoma patients, which has resulted in a more than 10-fold increase in the three-year survival of metastatic melanoma patients. You can help us develop innovative treatments.

6

Lab Work

We believe the science behind immunotherapy for melanoma can be applied to other more common adult cancers including lung cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, lymphoma and leukemia. You can help make that happen.

7

Nurse

Some patients cannot afford a ride to treatment. You can help patients overcome this barrier by supplying gas vouchers, cab rides and bus tickets through the M. Krista Loyd Resource Center.
